A local, family owned business located in Delmar, NY
As a mom of two young boys, I noticed the growing amount of waste piling up in our trash bin. I started wondering why it’s so difficult for households to recycle more beyond just cardboard, paper, drink containers, and some plastics. Many recycling services only accept a limited range of items, even though much more can be recycled. Due to convenience, a lot of recyclable materials end up in the trash. In fact, 75% of household waste could be recycled* if sent to the right facility, but the lack of cost-effectiveness for many services means big companies don’t prioritize it. While large companies have a wider range of materials to recycle, these services aren’t as accessible for residential use.
That’s when I realized there was a need for a simple solution. With a background in waste management and zero waste initiatives, I wanted to leverage my experience to create a recycling and reuse service that is both convenient and accessible for households and small businesses—one that goes beyond just cardboard, paper, and certain plastics. Ecovert was born from this idea – to help our community recycle hard-to-recycle items with ease, directly from their doorstep.
At Ecovert, we’re passionate about creating a cleaner, more sustainable future for our children, one step at a time. Join us as we take small steps towards a much larger, circular future!
